Maine South Chamber Orchestra Visit

Maine South Chamber Orchestra Visit

On Tuesday, January 30, the Emerson Concert Orchestra 1 was visited by members of the Maine South Chamber Orchestra and director, Matthew Nix.

Students divided into sectional rooms (violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello and bass) and high school students led mini rehearsals with each section of the middle school orchestra. This was a terrific opportunity for high school students to demonstrate their leadership and teaching skills, and a great way for our middle school students to connect and learn about the high school orchestra program. At the end of rehearsal, the students came back together and rehearsed as a combined high school-middle school orchestra. (Click here for pictures from the morning).

It was a wonderful morning! The Emerson orchestra concert takes place on Tuesday, February 13 at 7pm in the Emerson gymnasium. We hope to see you there!
