Emerson Orchestra High School Performance

Emerson Orchestra High School Performance

Yesterday afternoon, 8th grade orchestra students from Emerson and Lincoln Middle Schools participated in a combined orchestra rehearsal on the Maine South High School auditorium stage. Following the combined rehearsal, students were treated to a pizza party where they had a chance to mix and mingle with other 8th grade students, and meet some of the high school orchestra students.

That evening, 8th grade students performed along with the MSHS String Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Orchestra. With the stage lights shining down and an enthusiastic audience, students left excited to continue with their orchestral endeavors as they transition into high school.

(An added bonus: the Maine South Orchestras announced that they will be traveling to New York City next school year for a performance tour!!)

We continue to be so proud of our D64 orchestra students. This collaborative concert was a beautiful way to continue our strong partnership with the Maine South D207 instrumental music program, and we look forward to many more!
