D64 hosts school finance panel September 28

District 64 is joining with the League of Women Voters of Park Ridge and the NW Suburban branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to host an informational session for all community members on "Demystifying School Finance: State and Local."

The program will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Lincoln Middle School (Learning Resource Center), 200 S. Lincoln Ave, Park Ridge.

The evening will include a presentation by Roosevelt University professor of Educational Leadership Dr. Tom Kersten, author of "Taking the Mystery Out of Illinois School Finance." His talk is designed to provide facts and dispel misconceptions that every taxpayer can readily understand and will find helpful in light of today's headlines focused on school funding concerns.

Joining him later for a panel discussion on K-12 school funding locally are District 64 Chief School Business Official Luann Kolstad and Mary Kalou, Maine Township High School District 207 Assistant Superintendent of Business. A Question & Answer session will follow.
