SGA Update and October is Respect Month

SGA Update and October is Respect Month

Have you been doing some fall organizing?  Not sure what to do with last season's sports equipment?  Bring them to Lincoln!  Our Student Government Association (SGA) is sponsoring a drive for Gear 4 Goals - a organization that seeks to bring the joy of sport to needy children across the world.  If you have any gently used sports equipment you would like to donate, please bring it to the bin outside the Lincoln Office by Friday, October 16th.

Each month we will be presenting you with ROARS themes. This month we will be focusing on the R- Respect Yourself and Others. Here are some suggestions as to how students can accomplish this.

Respect Yourself
What does it look like?
Take care of your physical health by:
• Eating healthy foods
• Exercising
• Bathing on a regular basis
• Dressing in clothes that are appropriate for school and social situations

Take care of your mental health by:
• Work on coping skills so you know what to do when things are not going just right
• Thinking healthy thoughts about yourself- 2 positives for every negative thought
• Accepting who you are and celebrate all that is good about you
• Find people (peers and/or adults) who can be your support system

Respecting Others
What does it look like?
• Accept peoples differences
• Consider others perspectives
• Treat them in a manner that you would want to be treated
• Listen and follow adult directions
• Use respectful language

Consider how your actions impact others.
