Special education parents will meet again on March 7

The second meeting of the new D64 parent support group focused on the needs of families receiving special education assistance will be held on Wednesday, March 7 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln Middle School (Learning Resource Center), 200 S. Lincoln, Park Ridge.

This meeting will offer an overview of the budgeting process for special education students as well as our programs and services, along with a financial Q&A. We will also have updates on the improvement initiatives now underway.

Visit the new parent group webpages for more information.

District 64 officially launched the new group on February 7, 2018, when about 75 parents and staff members came together to hear Superintendent Laurie Heinz and the District's new Interim Director of Student Services Mike Padavic describe the District's continuum of programs and services, before opening discussion to brainstorm ideas for ways that District 64 can offer resources, networking opportunities, and professional speakers at future meetings, among other topics.

The inaugural meeting was videotaped and is available on the new webpages.

Monthly meetings through May are scheduled.
