Letter from the Principal . . .

"None of us got where we are solely by pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps. We got here because somebody - a parent, a teacher, an Ivy League crony or a few nuns - bent down and helped us pick up our boots."

Thurgood Marshall

Dear Carpenter Families,

Since this is teacher appreciation week, we thank all staff that work with our children.  And, I thank you for being your child’s first teacher!  You have helped us make Carpenter a wonderful place. Your support is remarkable.

This goes from reading books to children, working the lunchroom, providing luncheons for staff, volunteering your time, saying kind words, donating your time, working on projects using artistic influence, being supportive for new ideas, creating family events, supporting our field trips, grants, and cultural events.  The list goes on and on!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

As you know, this is my last year at Carpenter.  I am the lucky one who got to work with you and your children.  Please know that you will always remain in my heart and mind.  I will think of you often and know that your new principal will find this a great community to work in.

Thank you for being a part of my life!  Thank you for sharing your children!

With warm regard,

Dr. Marcy Wolff Canel
