Using A SMARTBoard in the Classroom
Class #187   

Description: This class is for the SMARTBoard user who wants to better use their board and Notebook software in the classroom.  Teachers will develop enhanced presentations and share ideas to encourage student use.  Activities include reviewing, customizing, and creating lessons that improve student engagement and learning.

Bring your laptop with the current version of Notebook software installed.

Prerequisite: Basic experience using SMARTBoard and Notebook software.

Time:            4:00pm – 6:00pm

Credit:          ½ professional growth credit

This class is limited to 15 participants.

Pre-registration is required for all in-district Professional Growth Workshops. Walk-ins are not allowed and will not be given Professional Growth credit or pay.

Literature Circles for Middle School
Class #189    

Description: This class will help teachers plan and implement literature circles.  Teachers who are new to literature circles as well as those who would like to revise previous units or plan new ones will benefit from this workshop.

Dates:  Thursday, March 8, Tuesday, April 10, and Thursday, May 24, 2012, plus 3 hours of independent work
Time:  3:30pm – 5:30pm  (3:30pm - 4:30pm on May 24)
Location:  Lincoln Middle School, Room 106
Credit:  .5 professional growth credit.

This class is limited to 15 participants.
