November 14 program focuses on vaping and teen behaviors

Based on the popularity of a similar program hosted in May at Emerson Middle School, School District 64 is joining with the Maine Community Youth Assistance Foundation (MCYAF) and the Park Ridge Police to continue spreading awareness about the dangers of e-cigarettes to youth in the community.

"Vaping and Other Teen Behaviors" will be presented on Tuesday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m. by the Lincoln Middle School PTO in Lincoln's Learning Resource Center, 200 S. Lincoln, Park Ridge, IL. Parents/guardians may bring their children in grades 5 and up, based on their maturity level. The program is open to all members of the community.

The program will cover trends in teen behavior using electronic devices for smoking, and will include hands-on examples of what these devices look like and how they are used. The types of substances being smoked -- ranging from vape oil and marijuana to prescription drugs -- will be pointed out as well.

MCYAF will respond to requests for more information; call or text 847-858-7090.

The Lincoln PTO will conduct its regular monthly business meeting following the program.
