Parent U videos for summer viewing and family conversation

With the more relaxed pace of summer, why not schedule a viewing of these helpful podcasts to prompt a lively discussion, especially with your grades 3-8 students?

Created by our Instructional Technology Coaches, here are two on-demand videos from our Parent University:

  • The Whole (Internet) Truth: The Challenge of Evaluating Internet Resources (9 minutes) will help families learn how to evaluate online resources for accuracy and quality. Our information-rich world requires a higher level of Internet know-how. Unlike much of what we hear on news broadcasts and what we read in newspapers, most of the content that is published on the Internet is not regulated for credibility and reliability. Since almost anyone can publish anything they want on the Internet, it's important to learn how to assess resources effectively.
  • Stay Connected - Making the Most of #engageD64 (24 minutes) will help you navigate 21st century information and learning resources to help parents enhance their student's educational experience. This informative video gets you connected to digital resources in District 64 and beyond!

These podcasts are part of our continuing Parent University series. View our other offerings, too!
