2nd Grade Book Box Projects!

By: Emily Lech, assistant principal

We are very busy learning at Franklin School! Teachers continue to find creative ways to entice students to grow a love for reading.

For example, in Mrs. Vukmarkaj’s second grade, students brought in book box projects this week. They had to choose a book to read and then decorate a box to represent the book. Inside the box, students needed 5 items that represented important parts of the book. They could draw pictures, use actual items, print pictures from the internet, among other ideas.

Mrs. Vukmarkaj was so impressed by the hard work and enthusiasm of her class. Teachers and administration visited the class to view the boxes. At that time students had the wonderful opportunity to share thoughts, favorite parts, and most importantly if they would recommend the book for their friends!

Currently they are on display!
