Elementary School Lunch
SCHOOL LUNCH BALANCES: With the schools closed prior to the end of the 2019-20 school year, parents will have money remaining on unused school lunches. Depending on whether the student is currently in eighth-grade or a student who will be returning to a District 64 school in the fall, parents have several options regarding their lunch balances. Please review the information on this PDF and let us know your decision regarding your school lunch balance.
Elementary lunch orders must be placed by Thursday for the week ahead.
As a reminder, D64's elementary hot lunch menus have a third entree available. The selection changes weekly and features a popular menu staple, such as a chicken patty sandwich or cheeseburger. All lunches include a milk or water. The beverage does not have to be ordered separately.
Elementary students in grades 1-5 remain at school during their scheduled lunch period.
District 64 partners with Quest Food Management Services to provide a high quality hot lunch program for grades 1-8.
District 64 elementary families have the opportunity to preorder a hot lunch four days per week. A pizza day lunch one day per week is offered by the individual school PTO/As as a fundraiser.
Students may also choose to bring a lunch from home, and either provide their own beverage in an unbreakable container (no cans or glass bottles) or preorder daily milk or water.
In addition, District 64 also conducts a food composting program in all school lunch rooms as part of our sustainability initiatives.
