Calendar for School Year 2024-2025

(adopted by the Board of Education on December 21st, 2023)

Please note: This calendar is the official school year calendar adopted by the Board of Education and follows state guidelines. To view a school calendar for all events, please view the District 64 Google calendar and subscribe to get alerts of new and modified events

Highlights:

• First day of school for students (K-8): Wednesday, August 14th, 2024
• First day of school for Pre-K students: Thursday, August 15th, 2024
• Fall Break: Tuesday, November 26th through Friday, November 29th 2024
  • Monday, November 25th, is designated as a Parent-Teacher Conference Day - No Student Attendance
• Winter Break: Monday, December 23rd through Friday, January 3rd 2025
• Spring Break: Monday, March 24th through Friday, March 28th 2025
• Last day of school: Friday, May 30th, 2025 (In the event Friday, May 30th is designated as records/planning day, Thursday, May 29th will be the last day of school for students)

What happens after a certain amount of snow/cold days?

After the use of three snow or cold weather days prior to February, the record planning day in Feb. becomes a student attendance day. If there were to be another snow or cold weather day after that, then students report to school on the last day of the year, which is a student record day. It is at that point that if we missed more student attendance days, the District would need to explore extending the school year. 

Also of note, if we need to close one school for an emergency, it still counts as an attendance day for all schools across the District.

Highlights:

• First day of school for students (K-8): Wednesday, August 23, 2023
• Last day of school: Friday, June 7, 2024 (this is a potential records day, in which case the last day of school for students is June 6)
• Fall break: Monday, November 20th, 2023 through Friday, November 24th, 2023; school resumes on Monday, November 27th, 2023
  • Monday, November 20th is designated as a Parent-Teacher Conference Day - No Student Attendance
• Winter break: Monday, December 25, 2023, through Friday, January 5, 2024; school resumes on Monday, January 8, 2024 
• Spring break: Monday, March 25 through Monday, April 1, 2024; school resumes on Tuesday, April 2, 2024
