LUNCHROOM  RECESS EXPECTATIONS

 

 

All students were shown this video this week explaining our lunchroom and recess expectations. Please watch the video so you are aware of the lunchroom/recess expectations.

We implemented these expectations/procedures this past Monday and we have already seen a huge improvement in lunchroom behavior.

PTA sponsored Halloween Social Thurs Night:

You're invited to our annual PTA FRANKLINSTEIN FEST! This year, we've decided to celebrate our Kindness Walk success with a costume party in the gym from 6:30pm - 8:00pm on THURSDAY, 10/27 (to avoid World Series games... Go Cubs!)

DETAILS:

 

  • We're taking it down a notch: No food, crafts, or classrooms are being used
  • This is an open gym event featuring DJ Jules (from our Kindness Walk)
  • COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED! No weapons allowed.
  • *CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT* This is NOT a drop-off event
  • BEST PART? IT'S FREE! This event will be fully sponsored by PTA.

HALLOWEEN AT FRANKLIN:

 

Franklin students will have a HALLOWEEN PARADE (weather permitting) and parties on Mon. Oct. 31st.  The ALL SCHOOL parade will take place outside at 3:10 p.m.  Children will change into their costumes at 2:00 and then we will start our classroom parties.  Kindergarten students can wear their costumes to school.  Children will Classroom parties will be held from 2:10/2:15-3:00.  Our parade route will have students exiting the building through the circle driveway doors (Door 3), walking the perimeter of the school across the playground and entering the school at Door 9 (5th grade door).  Our AM KDG students will follow the same route.  They will parade at 8:55 a.m.  Parents and families are welcome to stand outside on the blacktop and watch the parade. IF IT IS RAINING HEAVILY the parade will be cancelled.  The parties will still take place.  STRICT costume guidelines: NO weapons with costumes and no masks or hoods covering faces.  Children will change into their costumes BEFORE the classroom parties. Students do not wear costumes or face makeup to school (EXCEPT KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS). AM KDG students are welcome to come back to school to join the all school parade at 3:10.  PM KDG students wear their costumes to school. All parents are welcome to line our playground and watch the parade. Children will enter the building to get their backpacks and will come back outside to be dismissed at 3:30 p.m.

Franklin Students are Voting for a new Franklin Mascot

 

This week all students will participate in the primary election vote of four candidates for a new school mascot : Bulldog, Badger, Falcon and Fox. After the primary we will take eliminate two candidates for mascot and determine the final two candidates for the election.

On Nov. 7th all of our students will vote for one candidate for a new school mascot as well as place their vote for the U.S. Presidential Election.  Results will be shared on Nov. 9th.

Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Parents,

 

It is time to encourage your student to participate in the 31st annual District 64 Science Olympiad, to be held at Emerson Middle School on Saturday, February 4, 2017.  This year, sign ups are online.
