Parent Night, Chromebook Responsibility, and ROARS Spirit Week

Thanks again to everyone for a great Parent Night last week.

If you did not get a chance to attend, here is the technology presentation we gave about managing your child's work when using Google Drive.  One of the points we stressed that evening was that students need to carry their Chromebooks in the case provided by the District.  We already have equalled 10% of the total number of cracked screens that we repaired all of last year. Students who need repeated reminders to use their assigned carrying case will receive an after school detention, providing them an opportunity to reflect on how they can be more responsible for their learning tools.

Next week is ROARS Week, when we focus on our school-wide behavior expectations. Please encourage your child to participate in our spirit day themes:

Dress for Success-Picture Day                          

Show your Respect for yourself and Lincoln and get dressed up for Picture Day.

Tuesday: September 15th

Support your Charity and wear some slippers

Offer empathy. Wear a shirt that represents your favorite organization and/or charity to demonstrate how we can care for others. You can also wear slippers to show that Offering empathy requires thinking about what it must be like to be in other peoples’ shoes.

Wednesday: September 16th

SuperHero Day

Remember to Act safely at school and SAVE the day by wearing your favorite school appropriate superhero gear.

Thursday: September 17th

Wear your College and/or University Gear

Show you are responsible for your own learning.  When we are Responsible for our learning our future options are limitless. Wear any college type of gear you own. (Sweatshirts, t-shirts, and/or hats)

Friday: September 18th

Traffic Light Color Day!

Show your Self-control. Just like at a light, you have to stop, yield or go!

  • 6th Graders=Wear Red
  • 7th Graders=Wear Yellow
  • 8th Graders=Wear Green

Please note that our Girls' Basketball Teams have their home opener against Sandburg on Tuesday. Students who attend the games in their slippers win a chance to be our "Couch Potatoes" - sitting court side on a comfy couch with pizza and pop delivered to their seats.  Cross Country's home meet is Thursday.  Students wearing their college gear will win a chance for the "VIP Seats" at the finish line, and  yes, they get pizza and pop as well.  Let's get out there and cheer on our Lions!
