Carpenter Spelling Bee and Winners

Carpenter Spelling Bee and Winners

Over the past week, over 50 Carpenter students competed in the Carpenter Spelling Bee (3rd-5th Grade).  Mrs. Douglass conducted the spelling bee over 3 different grade level lunches.  Nine winners emerged (3 from each grade) and are ready to compete on Thursday after school to narrow our Carpenter representatives to three to compete in the 3rd-8th district spelling bee at the end of the month.  I was impressed and complimented all of our participants for competing and simply taking the risk.  Our students demonstrated great sportsmanship and encouraged others even after they were eliminated from the contest.  Good luck to our 9 winners on Thursday!
