Trash to Treasure Challenge

Trash to Treasure Challenge

Maine South High School Fashion classes invited middle school students to participate in creating a wearable piece of art in the Trash to Treasure Challenge using materials such as: newspaper, maps, raffle tickets, bottle caps, paint chips, etc.  The middle school students were teamed up in small groups with high school mentors from Fashion 4.  The group met 4 times after school and participated in the fashion show on January 27 at Maine West High School.

Mrs. Golbeck’s sewing classes were encouraged to participate.  Two 8th grade sewing students, Athena D. and Emily R., were lucky enough to have that experience and enjoyed the experience.
