On Saturday, the Emerson Concert Band, Emerson Symphonic Band, Emerson Concert Orchestra 1, and the Emerson/Lincoln Honors Chorus performed and competed at the Music in the Parks Festival at Vernon Hills High School. Following the performances, they spent the day at Great America where the groups met for an exciting awards ceremony.
We are thrilled to share with you their results:
- Emerson/Lincoln Honors Chorus received a "Superior" rating- the highest rating a group can receive at the festival!
- Emerson Concert Band and Emerson Symphonic Band both took home 2nd place in their respective divisions with excellent ratings!
- Emerson Concert Orchestra 1 took home 1st place AND won the best OVERALL orchestra of the competition!
All four groups had outstanding performances and the students and staff should be applauded for their hard work. Here is a link to view a few pictures from their fun day!
