First ever D64 Orchestral Jazz Festival

Orchestra group

Thanks to a grant from the D64 Elementary Learning Foundation (ELF), world-renowned jazz violinist Randy Sabien conducted a joint D64 Jazz Orchestra Clinic on Tuesday morning, February 5, bringing together student musicians from the Emerson and Lincoln Middle Schools Philharmonic and Concert Orchestras. After an intense morning workshop and breakout sessions, these D64 student musicians -- joined by Maine South orchestra students -- will perform the first-ever District 64 Orchestral Jazz Concert tonight (Tuesday, February 5) at 7 p.m. in the Emerson gym. All music lovers are invited to attend! Here is a link to view pictures and a video of the event.

Together We Learn, Grow, Connect, & Care

At D64, our vision is that every child is empowered to discover their voice, reach their full potential, and make a positive impact on the world. Student growth, driven by rigorous curriculum and effective instruction, makes District 64 one of the best PreK-8 school districts in the state.
