Emerson - Let the Games Begin

Emerson - Let the Games Begin

Thursday and Friday, the entire 6th grade participated in the opening day ceremony of the annual 6th Grade Olympics. The Olympics is a wonderful tradition at Emerson, which is a one and a half day event that ties into the 6th grade interdisciplinary unit on Ancient Greece. The students study their government, different trades, industries and the history of the Ancient Greek civilization. Today, students will be taking part in fun physical and intellectual games and songs, while building on their civil behaviors of empathy, respect, social skills, and self-regulation. This is an event that the children will remember the rest of their lives.
