Pie Day at Emerson for St. Baldrick's

Pie Day at Emerson for St. Baldrick's

Who needs to wait for March 14th for Pie Day? Not us! It was Pie Day at Emerson Middle School on Wednesday as part of their fundraising efforts for St. Baldrick's.

We are just a few weeks away from the big head-shaving events on March 8th. The Lincoln/Emerson Baldies have raised nearly $300,000 for childhood cancer research!

At lunch, Emerson students who have helped fundraise were drawn to throw a pie at a teacher. Ms. Halfman and Ms. Nguyen raised the most money and got to collect their "winnings," aka a pie to the face!

Ms. Halfman went the untraditional route and opted not to use shaving or whipped cream but instead had a blueberry pie tossed her way. Ms. Nguyen had not only one, but two students throw (gently, of course) shaving cream-filled pie tins at her.
