District 64 hires Conlin as new Emerson Assistant Principal

Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 has named a new assistant principal for Emerson Middle School.

On Thursday, the District 64 Board of Education voted to approve the hire of Patrick Conlin as a new assistant Principal at Emerson, starting July 22, 2024. He will work alongside Principal Tessa Shulman and Assistant Principal Maria Soulias at Emerson.

Since 2018, Conlin has worked as a special education teacher at Crown-Dundee High School. He previously was a special education teacher assistant in Lake Zurich School District 95.

Conlin has been active in various leadership roles, which stood out during the interview process. He was the lead mentor for new special education teachers and planned and led monthly PLC meetings at Dundee-Crown High School. Colin also developed and presented to staff on how to help students make connections between school and the real world, diversity in the classroom, and developing positive working relationships with colleagues.

Conlin earned a B.A. from Concordia University, his Master's Degree in Teaching from National Louis University, and a Master's in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.

There were 63 individuals who applied for the position. After the initial screening, four candidates were brought in to be interviewed by a District 64 administrative committee. After several rounds, two final candidates were then brought back and interviewed before a committee comprised of the Emerson administration, a District 64 central office administrator, and Emerson Middle School staff members.

Mr. Conlin will replace Mr. Csongradi, as he has taken a new position at St. Patrick’s High School. We wish Mr. Csongradi well.
