Newly formed special education parent group underway; monthly meetings planned

District 64 officially launched a new group earlier this month focused on the needs of families receiving special education assistance.

About 75 parents and staff members came together February 7, 2018 to hear Superintendent Laurie Heinz and the District's new Interim Director of Student Services Mike Padavic describe the District's continuum of programs and services, before opening discussion to brainstorm ideas for ways that District 64 can offer resources, networking opportunities, and professional speakers at future meetings, among other topics.

The meeting was videotaped and is available on new webpages intended as an ongoing resource. Monthly meetings from March through May are scheduled.
