Carpenter wins $600+ grant for green initiative in classrooms

OPESD 97

Carpenter School is the recipient of a significant, matching grant from the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County for 2018.

SWANCC, in partnership with the PTO, will share the $1270.80 cost to purchase 23 classroom sets of lap-sized dry erase boards to help reduce the amount of paper waste. The new dry erase boards will be used for practicing math fluency facts, letter writing, brainstorming, small group instruction, creating musical scales, and many more educational activities.

Carpenter is excited to partner with SWANCC and its PTO to continue educating our students and staff about ways to reduce our waste and protect our natural resources!
