District 64 instructional technology coaches will facilitate a one-hour computer education program for families on Wednesday, December 11. The program, “Hour of Code,” is the next program in the district’s Parent University Series. Hour of Code is a one-hour coding challenge to give students a fun first introduction to computer science and has become a global learning, awareness and celebration event. Activities require no experience and can be accessed right from student Chromebooks (or another computer or tablet). The event is an opportunity to empower students tolerant how to create technology, help nurture creativity and develop problem-solving skills for any future career. Geared towards families with school-aged students, this program runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Middle School Learning Resource Center, 200 S. Lincoln Avenue, Park Ridge.
