D64 duo win Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Award

District 64 continues to build upon its excellence in music education. Our very own Erica Faulhaber and Ilona Hutter were named winners of the prestigious Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Award! Congratulations!

Only four middle school educators were selected for this award; two came from here in D64. Faulhaber is an Instrumental Music Curriculum Specialist/Department Chair and Orchestra Teacher at Emerson, Field, Franklin, Carpenter. Hutter is a Band Teacher at Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Washington.

“They are tireless advocates for the fine arts and excellence in education, and we could not be more proud of them!” said Superintendent Dr. Ben Collins.

The Quinlan and Fabish organization sponsors this Outstanding Music Educator award, and has been presented annually since 1989. Winners are nominated by their peers and then are picked from a selection committee that includes previous winners.
