District 64 Adopts Calendar for 2015-16 School Year

The Board of Education at the January 26 meeting adopted the 2015-16 school year calendar. The calendar was recommended by the District 64 Calendar Committee, based on a survey of families and staff this fall concerning alignment with the high schools.

Here are the key dates:

First Day of School for Students - Tuesday, August 18, 2015
Thanksgiving Recess - Begin Monday, November 23, 2015 - Return Monday, November 30, 2015
Winter Recess - Begin Monday, December 21, 2015 - Return Monday, January 4, 2016
Spring Recess - Begin Friday, March 25, 2016 - Return Monday, April 4, 2016
Last Day of School for Students - Thursday, June 2, 2016

The school year has been shifted slightly to begin a few days earlier -- and end a few days earlier -- than in the past. This will help keep District 64 in closer alignment with the high schools.
