Anti Bullying Assembly

Anti Bullying Assembly

This week Washington students participated in an anti bullying assembly with Matt Wilhelm.  Matt Wilhelm is a three time BMX X-Game winner and two time National Championship.  Matt comes to Washington to talk to students about his life and struggles he went through while growing up.  He had his own personal bullying experiences which caused him to almost quit riding his BMX bike. His show incorporates ways to stick up for one another, as well as to never give up.  His experiences are explained in a way that provides inspiration for all students.  His message to all students was everyone has a strength in something, we need to find out what it is, be proud of it and always keep working on it.  This was a great way to start our year and get our students inspired to be engaged in their life and learning as well as inspired to help others Thank you to our PTO for planning and bringing Matt Wilhelm to Washington.
