Little Shop of Horrors Comes to First Grade

Little Shop of Horrors Comes to Washington’s First Grade

By: Shari Lazor- Assistant Principal

Two of our first grade classes read a story about the Venus flytrap and had an opportunity to see it.  Mr. Rybak brought in a Venus flytrap to show students what it looks like up close and personal.  In addition to bringing the flytrap, he also brought in an ant so students could see exactly how the flytrap got its name. It was a great hands-on activity that gave students a way to make a connection to what they were reading in class.
