Thank School Board members on November 15

School District 64 is joining with other Illinois districts on Tuesday, November 15 to thank the seven members of our Board of Education for their contributions to public education. This year’s statewide theme – Leadership Starts Here – focuses on the service of elected school board members and the crucial decisions they make to invest local resources in the education of our community’s children.

Students at Field School will have the honor this year of presenting certificates of appreciation to the District 64 Board when it meets there on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. The Board includes: Anthony Borrelli, President; Scott Zimmerman, Vice-President; Vicki Lee, Secretary; and members Mark Eggemann, Bob Johnson, Dathan Paterno and Tom Sotos.

School Board members set goals and monitor progress on facilities improvements, annual budgets and tax levies, curriculum and learning objectives, and student achievement, among other areas. Their leadership sets high standards for the education of Park Ridge and Niles students in District 64 to prepare them for success in high school and beyond.

District 64 encourages all local residents to take this once-a-year opportunity to thank these seven community volunteers for their oversight of the education of almost 4,400 students supported by the work of 600 staff members.

Contact Board members via email through the District 64 website. A roster of former Board members back to 1968 also is available.
