Washington Construction Update

Washington Elementary School

Washington Elementary School

With the recent addition of Full Day Kindergarten in District 64, additions and construction projects are being done at each elementary school in order to create the necessary space.

Starting on March 14 and going through March 18 you’ll see the first steps in this process at Washington.  That week temporary fencing will be installed around much of the west and south sides of campus.  This fencing will enclose the entire construction site as well as the temporary staging and roadways necessary for the contractor.  The playground located in that section will be protected and remain in place following the project.  The entrance for the construction site will be on Stewart Avenue near the west end of the Washington campus.

If you have any questions or would like to see the site plans and renderings, a Construction Open House with District 64 Administration will be held in the multipurpose room at Washington at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12.  This is not an opportunity to ask questions about curriculum, the program itself, or kindergarten logistics. This meeting is to only discuss the construction.
