District 64 hires a new assistant principal at Washington

Park Ridge-Niles has named a new assistant principal to take over at Washington Elementary School.

On Thursday, the District 64 Board of Education voted to hire Jennifer Adams as the new assistant principal at Washington, effective starting July 1st, 2023.

As an assistant principal at Washington, Mrs. Jennifer Adams will work alongside Principal Ms. Angela Brito.

Before joining D64, Adams was an assistant principal in Lake Zurich School District 95, starting that role in 2019. Previously, she was at District 25 and was the district assessment coordinator for four years. Adams served as an elementary and middle school instructional math coach in the Deerfield School District 109 for 7 years. She began her career as a 2nd-grade teacher in District 109.

“Mrs. Adams continuously impressed us during the interview process, and we are excited to have her as an assistant principal at Washington,” said Dr. Olson. “Her strong background in multiple areas will be excellent assets for her to bring to Washington.”

Adams earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Purdue University, her Master's Degree in Curriculum Instruction from National Louis University, and a Doctorate in Administration and Supervision from National Louis University.

Adams was chosen from a pool of 84 applicants. Initially, 12 candidates were interviewed by a District 64 administrative committee. After several rounds, two final candidates were brought back to interview with Washington Principal Ms. Brito, Dr. Olson and Washington staff members.
