Erin's Law

Erin’s Law in Illinois requires all school districts to educate children in public schools on sexual abuse prevention through an age-appropriate curriculum. The District has incorporated this curriculum into the existing Science and Health units at all of our schools. The first step in helping abused or neglected children is learning to recognize the signs of child abuse and neglect. The presence of a single sign does not prove child abuse is occurring in a family, but a closer look at the situation may be warranted when these signs appear repeatedly or in combination. For help in recognizing child abuse or neglect, please visit DCFS Safe Kids.

All District 64 employees are state-mandated reporters and are required to report allegations of abuse and/or neglect to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
