Healthy Trees, Healthy Communities: An Arbor Day partnership

Healthy Trees, Healthy Communities: An Arbor Day partnership

District 64 and the City of Park Ridge partnered up for a fun Arbor Day.

"This is a very special experience," said Roosevelt Principal Dr. Kevin Dwyer as he talked to an eager group of 2nd graders. "We're going to be witnessing the final planting of two trees on our parkway right here."

All of the Roosevelt 2nd graders gathered outside to help put the finishing touches on a swamp white oak and a heritage oak tree that sit proudly along Fairview Ave.

The Roosevelt Tigers also got to learn a little about the importance of trees and Arbor Day! Thank you to City Forester Brandon Naser and Forestry Tech Rachel Berry for their help.

Students also made posters with the theme of Healthy Trees, Healthy Communities. The city picked three winners that will be displayed at City Hall.
