Board Election 2017

The District 64 Board of Education was included in the spring municipal elections on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. District 64 residents elected four individuals to serve 4-year terms. The Board consists of seven members; three members will be continuing as their terms expire in 2019.

Election Results

The Cook County Clerk has posted the following unofficial results on its website with 34 of 34 precincts reported, listed in ballot order:
Gregory Bublitz - 2,556 votes
Larry E. Ryles - 4,335 votes
Eastman Tiu - 3,087 votes
Alfred C. Sanchez - 3,775 votes
Michael Schaab - 2,470 votes
Richard B. Biagi - 4,269 votes
Norman Dziedzic Jr. - 2,759 votes

The Board of Education will conduct the official canvass of votes and seat the new Board members at the organizational meeting on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at Jefferson School (multipurpose room), 8200 N. Greendale, Niles.


The Park Ridge Education Association and school PTO/As co-sponsored a "Meet the Candidates" forum on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Roosevelt School (auditorium), 1001 S. Fairview, Park Ridge.

ABC's of School Board Service  - This event was held on October 12 and featured short informational presentations by Superintendent Laurie Heinz, Board President Tony Borrelli and member Bob Johnson,  followed by open Q&A with six other past Board members in attendance.  The evening was designed to allow community members an opportunity to talk with fellow community members about the job informally, and to get a feel for the time commitment, challenges and rewards that may not be evident from reading the formal list of responsibilities. View the presentation materials here and see below for further resources.
