Parent & Educator Resources

Parent University

We believe that when parents and schools learn together -- everyone learns more!

District 64 Parent University offers a series of free evening events each year, tailor-made for all parents and adult community members to extend their own learning. Many of our Parent U events are transformed into Family U nights as well!

Check this year's schedule on the Parent University webpage.

COVID-19: E-Learning replaces in-class instruction

With the closing of schools until March 30, District 64 has plans for supporting students through e-learning activities.  There are several points to keep in mind as we move into our first experience with E-Learning Days:

Our goal is for students to review current areas of study, practice previously learned skills, and introduce new topics. While learning will move forward, we recognize students may need additional time and support  to master new topics when they return to school.

Students engage and work at varied paces and levels. In the classroom, teachers are able to adjust the pace and modify activities for students in “real-time.” We ask that you do this at home for your child. If your child is frustrated or needs a break, please adjust the scope of the assignment or shorten the amount of time your child engages in the activity. District 64 E-Learning Boards are meant to provide direction for learning. Some students will be able to complete all activities while other students may only complete a portion of them.

You will receive an email on the afternoon of Monday, March 16 with information about where you can access your child’s E-Learning Day activities.

All lessons will be posted by 9:00 each morning. All teachers are available via email daily from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Please also reach out to your school administrators if you have any questions.

Please contact your school principal if you do not have Internet access or access to a device to support learning at home.

Please note that Spring Break will still be observed Friday, March 20, through Sunday, March 29. Students and staff will not be expected to participate in e-learning activities during spring break.

Like many school districts in Illinois, E-Learning Days are a new venture for District 64. We appreciate your patience as we work to identify what works best for students, families, and educators. We will seek feedback from all stakeholders to improve this program as we move forward. We are grateful for your partnership as we strive to keep our communities healthy while supporting our students’ daily learning routines.
