District 64 Announces Vaccination Clinic Opportunity

D64 Logo

District 64 is happy to announce a partnership with Jewel-Osco to bring a vaccine opportunity to its students.  The two-phase vaccine opportunity will begin later this month.

On Saturday, November 20, the vaccination clinic will run from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., providing the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

The second dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be administered on Saturday, December 11, exactly three weeks after the first dose.  Both doses will be administered at Emerson Middle School.

By adhering to this timeline, people are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose, so students would be fully vaccinated by Christmas Day, for those of our families who celebrate this holiday. By being vaccinated, students do not have to quarantine as close contacts, as long as students are not exhibiting symptoms.

This opportunity is for District 64 students only, five years and older.   All students must have a parent/guardian with them to receive the doses.

Parents may also elect to have their children receive the flu shot, in addition to the vaccine.

Those interested can sign up for the vaccine through the PowerSchool Parent Portal until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12.
