WATCH: Pacers Club gets going at Carpenter Elementary School

Carpenter Elementary School has the need for speed and that's quenched on Fridays with its Pacers Club.

Students run laps around the blacktop and after 10 laps they get a Cougar Charm.

"I think it's great having the whole school and community here," said Carpenter Elementary School Principal Brett Balduf. "All the students get the option to come out. Whether they can do the Pacers, or not do the Pacers it just gives them another opportunity and something different to do during recess."

PACERS! PACERS! PACERS! chants can be heard off in the distance as the students turned racers eagerly awaited their "ready, set, go".

"We really are just doing it for fun," said Carpenter first grader Charlotte. "We're just doing it for fun and it doesn't matter if you win or lose."

Together We Discover, Learn, Grow & Care
