Right before Spring Break, Emerson 6th graders competed with fervor in the spirited Olympic Games. The 6th Grade Olympics has been going on for more than two decades and is a beloved tradition for students and staff at Emerson.
It’s a two-day event that has an opening ceremony and numerous academic and physical contests. The Olympics is a culminating activity after students study Ancient Greece.
The Eagle 6th graders are divided into different city-states (Athens, Corinth, Delphi, Megara & Sparta) and that's when the games begin!
Although the ancient Greeks competed for an olive wreath, our Olympians compete for gold, silver or bronze medals. All 6th grade core teachers work with students to prepare for the events. Thank you to everyone who contributed to another year of this Emerson tradition!
