Team D64 at the Special Olympics

Team District 64 laced up their running shoes and shined on the track as a steady rain came down at the Regional Spring Games of the Special Olympics on April 16th. It was a fantastic event showcasing athleticism, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

Standing side by side on the football field at Prospect High School, contestants yelled out in unison the Athlete Oath, “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.” It was the perfect start; not even a little cold and rain could put a damper on the day.

Representing D64 was Aidan, Anna, Julia, Kimi, Chloe, Mica, Audrey, Simone, Isaac, Josh, Ben, and Nabil. We’re so proud of everyone for being great ambassadors of District 64!

Gold medal winners are eligible to advance to the state championship held at the Summer Games in Normal in June. Here are all of the official results from this past weekend

Thank you to our staff, the volunteers, and the families who helped make this a memorable day.
