Emerson SGA students preparing lunches

Students at Emerson Middle School have been busy helping others! This week students participated in Uncle Pete's Lunches and Feed My Starving Children.

The 7th Grade Student Government Association (SGA) helped to continue a 10-year-running, school-wide service project.  Emerson students, families, and staff were tasked with packing brown bag lunches for a program called Uncle Pete’s Lunches. Uncle Pete’s mission is to provide lunches to people in need throughout the Chicagoland area.

Emerson SGA students prepped and packed 100 lunches and then on Tuesday, April 18th, 390 more lunches were collected as students entered the building. For those keeping count...that's nearly 500 lunches!!

Volunteers from Uncle Pete’s then delivered the donated lunches to those in need.

The good deeds didn't stop there. On Friday, Emerson's Future Leaders program went to Feed My Starving Children to pack up meals that will be sent all over the world!

The Future Leaders program has students from all grades at Emerson.
