Former Roosevelt Tiger gives back with Eagle Scout project

Roosevelt honored former student and current Maine South High School senior James Sullivan at the January Board Meeting. James was recognized for his Eagle Scout project, which directly benefits our physical education programs.

He collaborated with a local woodshop to design and build custom cabinets for storing and maintaining the rollerblades used in the elementary school's PE curriculum. Roosevelt Principal Dr. Kevin Dwyer praised the project as a "wonderful partnership between our school and the community."

Dr. Dwyer mentioned that James's work is already being utilized by students across the district. Additionally, it is noteworthy that James is a member of Troop 1, which is the first troop in Illinois, established at Roosevelt in 1912.
