Franklin claims the 2026 Battle of the Books Title

The buzzer has sounded on another great year of the Battle of the Books! After five weeks of intense competition at the Park Ridge Public Library, the results are in, and the Franklin Falcons have emerged as the 2026 champions with a commanding total of 564 points.

It was a true "page-turner" of a competition, with Washington (534 points) narrowly securing second place, just a single point ahead of Field (533 points).

For over 40 years, this partnership between the Library and local schools has challenged 4th and 5th graders to dive deep into literature. This year was no exception, and our students showed incredible dedication and spirit.

2026 Final Standings:

  1. Franklin-564
  2. Washington-534
  3. Field-534
  4. Carpenter-498
  5. MSW-498
  6. St. Paul-459
  7. Roosevelt-419
