Strategic Plan 2030

Strategic Plan 2030

In May 2026, the Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 Board of Education unanimously approved the Strategic Plan 2030. This future-focused roadmap is our commitment to building on our strong tradition of academic excellence, supporting our outstanding teachers, and preparing every student to succeed for years to come.

We didn't want this plan to be just words on a page that would get forgotten during a busy school year. Powered by a refreshed mission, vision, and core values, the Strategic Plan 2030 sets clear, actionable priorities that guide our everyday decisions across every classroom and building in District 64.

What This Means For Our Students

The Strategic Plan 2030 is all about what our students and staff experience in school every day. By the time students complete 8th grade in District 64, they will have mastered academic and life skills needed for high school and beyond.

Our Mission, Vision, and Values

District Cohesion: One Connected System

Real progress happens when all parts of our school district work together as one connected system rather than separate, isolated projects. District Cohesion means linking three key pieces: who our students are becoming (Portrait of a Learner), what our learning environments look like (Model Classroom), and how our educators support them (Portrait of an Educator).

Circles showing how the Portrait of a Learner, Model Classroom, and Portrait of an Educator fit and work with each other.

Our Five District Pillars

The Strategic Plan 2030 is built around five main areas, called District Pillars, that influence our everyday work and how we invest in the district:

  • Community Engagement
  • Student Culture and Behavior
  • Student Learning
  • Educator Excellence and Culture
  • Resource Allocation and Maintenance

Each area features specific strategic priorities designed to guide our continuous improvement and success.

The Strategic Plan Scorecard

To keep our community informed and hold ourselves accountable, we will publish a Strategic Plan Scorecard. Each year, we will share the specific strategic priorities that have gone through the planning process, along with clear data to show how we are performing.

Together We Learn, Grow, Connect, & Care.

At D64, our vision is that every child is empowered to discover their voice, reach their full potential, and make a positive impact on the world. Student growth, driven by rigorous curriculum and effective instruction, makes District 64 one of the best PreK-8 school districts in the state.
