Summer 2024 Construction & Facility Projects
During the summer of 2024, construction projects will improve the floors of five gymnasiums at all of our elementary schools, replace lunch tables, and install exterior doors District-wide.
- 35 exterior doors would be replaced throughout the District. 47 pullout lunch table units would be replaced, and the drop-down curtain wall and Franklin would be replaced.
- The total construction costs for these items would be $1,249,000.
- The cost for the gym floor repairs is $372,584.
CSBO Dr. Adam Parisi presnted to the Board of Education on June 15th, 2023 a proposed plan for construction projects for the summer of 2024.
Items that were brought up to be addressed are the gym floors at all five elementary schools, as well as lunch table replacements in those gyms. Additionally, replacing exterior doors throughout the District. This construction will be part of the regular budget, and no additional money will be borrowed.
The bidding process for these renovations will open on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 at 2:00 PM at District 64's District Offices located at 8182 Greendale Ave., Niles, IL, 60714. At this time the Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud via video conference. A viewing link will be available on the district’s website. A Performance and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract will be required. A Bid Security of 10% of the Bid is required with the proposal. The Contractor must pay the Prevailing Wage Rates for all work per Illinois Law.
